New TextRecruit Article: Why Texting is the Recruiting Method of the Future

May 19th, 2015 Posted by Mobile Recruiting, Press Release, Textrecruit article, TextRecruit feature 0 thoughts on “New TextRecruit Article: Why Texting is the Recruiting Method of the Future”
new TextRecruit article

TextRecruit’s partnership with Beyond.com reflects how today’s candidates communicate.

If you’ve been emailing candidates left and right, and yet you’re struggling to fill a position in your company, perhaps your recruitment method is to blame.

As a new TextRecruit Article shows, response rates for email recruitment have traditionally been very low, and chances are they’ll only get worse.

Why? Because young people today are more drawn to texting than email.

That’s why TextRecruit has partnered with Beyond.com to develop a recruitment process that better reflects how today’s workers communicate.

By adding text message recruiting to a traditional framework, you increase you chances of getting a coveted prospect’s attention – and of getting your position filled.

That’s just one of the advantages of the new partnership, however. A few others include:

  • Not having to worry if your message got bounced or sent to an unread spam folder
  • Standing out from other companies that use more traditional recruitment methods
  • Giving your company a modern feel, which is attractive to younger candidates
  • Texts are easier to notice, read, and respond to

Texting is a dominant form of communication for the younger generation, and any company that doesn’t recognize that – and adjust their practices to reflect it – risks getting left behind.

If you want to recruit top young talent, you need to make sure that you’re getting through to them. Boost your response rates by taking advantage of their natural tendencies to read and respond to texts.

To learn how to boost response rates for your business, contact us today and see how we can get you in touch with the hottest young talent on the market today.

Texting is now part of the job market?

April 30th, 2015 Posted by Business, Mobile Recruiting, texting in the enterprise, TextRecruit Info 0 thoughts on “Texting is now part of the job market?”

Yes, it is true. With TextRecruit, possible employers no longer have to play phone-tag with possible employees to set up an interview. This is to take advantage of the fact that most adults have cell phones, and a good percentage of those have smartphones. An article on the Entrepreneur website states five main reasons why the TextRecruit program is so beneficial to this new technological era.

New TextRecruit Article

TextRecruit has partnered with Beyond.com to streamline the hiring process.

In fact, recently, TextRecruit was reported to have joined with Beyond.com. According to the article on Recruiter, TextRecruit is now partnering with Beyond.com, allowing users of Beyond.com to opt in to texts allowing them to keep updated on their job applications, as well as setting up interviews with possible employers. The article also stated that, while email correspondence usually only has a response rate of about eight percent, text responses are around 30 percent, more than three times the response rate. It goes on to state that it is simpler to answer a single text message than to go searching through a full inbox looking for one specific email.

Another article, this one for Recruiting Tools, states that TextRecruit has entered a partnership with a company known as iCIMS. iCIMS is an applicant tracking system that allows employers to post job listings to a variety of sites, as well as keeping all of an applicant’s information in one organized location at the employer’s fingertips. With the addition of TextRecruit to the iCIMS program, employers are now able to contact candidates via text messages. This article states the importance of text messaging, saying, “With over 90% of text messages read within 3 minutes of being sent, and 86% of job seekers reporting using mobile technologies in their job search, you can see how this capability can be very useful for staffing.”

Mobile Trends Point To Greater Use Of Text Message Marketing

November 23rd, 2014 Posted by Mobile Recruiting, Mobile usage, Trends 0 thoughts on “Mobile Trends Point To Greater Use Of Text Message Marketing”

Business leaders from all industries are now pondering what it would mean if they were to start using text message based marketing. It is one of the mobile trends that business has been a little wary of getting involved with. However, things are starting to change in that dimension as business owners start to see the value of marketing to people directly on their mobile devices.

The Things Already Done On Mobile Devices

[separator type=’transparent’ color=” thickness=” up=’5′ down=’5′]

It should be noted that there are already quite a few commercial activities done on mobile devices. This list is not exhaustive by any stretch of the imagination, but it helps point out a few of the things we already trust our mobile devices for:

Banking

Paying Bills

Transferring Money To Friends

We also use our mobile devices for seeking out information as well of course. Therefore, who is to say that such devices cannot or should not be used for text marketing as well?

How To Get Started

[separator type=’transparent’ color=” thickness=” up=’5′ down=’5′]

No one wants to be surprised to find a text message from a business waiting for them if said message is unsolicited and unwanted. This is why anyone who is contacted by a business for marketing purposes via text message should already have consented to this practice. This can easily be set up when the customers signs up for any number of your services via the Internet. So long as you have received their permission to text their phone, you are good to go.

Why Text Marketing May Really Be The Next Big Thing

[separator type=’transparent’ color=” thickness=” up=’5′ down=’5′]

The thing that makes text marketing so appealing is the fact that there is almost a 100% open rate on text messages. We simply cannot resist reading the latest text that we have received from someone. As such, smart marketers can easily reach more people than ever dreamed possible by just sending out text messages.

Top Tips for Business Texting Etiquette

November 3rd, 2014 Posted by Business, Communication, Mobile Recruiting, texting in the enterprise, Workplace 0 thoughts on “Top Tips for Business Texting Etiquette”

Text messaging is becoming the most efficient way to communicate, especially within businesses. Faster than email and more time-saving than a phone call, it has become mainstream.

[separator type=’transparent’ color=” thickness=” up=’5′ down=’5′]

As with anything pertaining to engaging with others, there are certain etiquettes that should be followed. Here are four rules of thumb to follow when using texting within your business.

[separator type=’transparent’ color=” thickness=” up=’15’ down=’15’]

1. Be Polite

The tone of a text message can easily be misunderstood. Abrupt messages can make you come off as coarse. Make sure to write complete sentences. Add polite touches such as please and thank you.

[separator type=’transparent’ color=” thickness=” up=’5′ down=’5′]

2. Never Be Negative

Giving negative feedback or firing someone via a text message is never a good idea. Save such serious conversations for when you are face-to-face with someone. Facial expressions and emotions cannot be communicated properly through a text message for these purposes and is not appropriate.

[separator type=’transparent’ color=” thickness=” up=’5′ down=’5′]

3. Don’t Depend On Autocorrect

If you are using voice-to-text, make sure that you are in a quiet environment in order not to accidentally pick up any background noise that could cause a potentially embarrassing message. Before pressing send, reread the text message to make sure that it says what you intended it to say.

[separator type=’transparent’ color=” thickness=” up=’5′ down=’5′]

4. Avoid Informal Abbreviations

Overuse of abbreviations such as “lol” and “u” could leave your business associates confused, not to mention appear unprofessional. Your texts should be able to be read clearly, especially when communicating with a new customer. Take the extra time to type out each word.

[separator type=’transparent’ color=” thickness=” up=’15’ down=’15’]

Generally, texting should be an uncomplicated and efficient way to interact with your clients and associates. If you’d like more information on how to use the benefits of texting for your business or have any questions, please contact us.

TextRecruit March Update

March 4th, 2014 Posted by Uncategorized 2 thoughts on “TextRecruit March Update”

Hey All,

I hope that all of you had record breaking quarters to start off your 2014! What an exciting time in recruiting and technology. I’ve been in the industry since 2007 and it’s looking like we are finally on track to get back to pre-recession un- employment numbers. There were 8.8 million private sector jobs lost in the last recession and it’s because of you recruiters that we were are tracking to replace all of the jobs lost and achieving the lowest un-employment rates since 2009. You don’t get enough credit for doing a very difficult job.

Technology has also played a major part in connecting  qualified, active job seekers to recruiters with matching  opportunities. I’m sure all of you can appreciate the number of sales calls and marketing campaigns launching the next best tool in recruiting. As we listen to our clients, we find that much of recruiting strategy has stayed consistent over the last 20 years, but the ability to do more with less is really where technology has impacted the process. We are tracking overall decreases in time to hire and increases in number of reqs assigned per recruiter.  Weird right? You would think that you would be able to do one or the other, but both are happening at the same time. We attribute this to advances in recruiting technology that can be put into 4 buckets:

1. Time Savers – saves you time on a task or process
2. Money Savers – saves you money on a tool or task
3. Quality Increasers – increases the quality of your applicants or your ability to target better talent
4. Quantity Increasers – increases the volume of your applicants

There are many tools that can be put into one of these buckets, and if you are lucky, 2 or more. But watch out, the big 3: LinkedIn, CB and Monster continue to snatch up new players in the market before they become contenders  (i.e. Identified, Bright, TalentBin and even Klout). All of those acquisitions came within 45 days of each other. Who knows if they are going to be the same post acquisition.

TextRecruit had a big month helping clients save time and increase the amount of active, interested candidates. With just a soft launch in March, we were able to sign up 95 new customers, activate 135 users and had 4 very awesome bloggers write about the product. The messages sent generated a 28% response rate. We are very excited about the opportunity to continue to deliver solid products that solve real business needs.

Thanks for reading and have a killer Q2.
