A record number of 37% of owners surveyed by NFIB reported raising overall compensation for workers in September. The same NFIB study reported that 67% of business owners were hiring or trying to hire. Furthermore, of the owners who were trying to hire,  87% of them said that there were few or no qualified workers for open positions.
