What is TextRecruit?
TextRecruit is a patented, centralized and regulated two way texting platform that recruiters and HR professionals use to communicate with candidates via text message. The platform is available worldwide. Companies can automate texts through ATS integration. TextRecruit replaces the recruiter’s need to communicate with candidates from personal texting plans and allows the managing company to own the communication strategy and monitor compliance.

Is TextRecruit legal?
TextRecruit is a platform that allows companies to deliver and track text messages to candidates that have expressed interest through the application process, from a 3rd party resume database, or have agreed to texting communication from the organization. All clients accept TextRecruit’s Terms and Conditions during the sign up process which defines the government regulations that they must follow for compliance. TextRecruit is not liable for any un-lawful act done on our platform and we have set up internal triggers to help our clients understand their compliance. Non-commercial messages are the only texts allowed on the platform.

How many users can I have on the system?
You can have unlimited recruiters on the platform, but you cannot share seats. Each recruiter must have their own seat and TextRecruit number.

Can I use TextRecruit for anything else besides recruiting?
We are exploring other use cases for the TextRecruit technology, but at this time we only support recruiting. Per TCPA and CAN-SPAM, you may not use TextRecruit for commercial advertising. If you have interest in another use case for TextRecruit, please email info@textrecruit.com.

Do I have to use a URL in my message?
No. A URL is not required, but recommended to increase response rate and mobile applications.

Can I schedule a time for my text to go out?
Yes. You can schedule texts to go out in the future at specific times.

Billing & Pricing

How can I increase the number of contacts I can message?
TextRecruit is set up to be a personalized conversation from recruiter to candidate, so we limit the amount of TextRecruit Contacts a single seat can have, maxing out in our enterprise plan. View our pricing page for plan credits. If you need to increase the number of TextRecruit Contacts over the max in our enterprise plan, you will need to purchase additional seats. Where do I see my billing information?
All secure billing information including credit card information, plan selection, number of seats and billing cycles can be viewed and edited in the “Billing” tab on a manager’s account.

How can I change or cancel my subscription?
If you would like to cancel your subscription you can do so in the “Billing” tab. You can cancel up to the day before your next billing cycle. We do not issue refunds.

Is there special pricing for more than 10 seats?
TextRecruit offers discounted Enterprise pricing for more than 10 seats. Visit the pricing page for more information. For a quote, please put in a request here.

Is there a contract to use the service?
TextRecruit is a monthly service with no annual contract needed and you can cancel anytime. See billing FAQs for more information.

Configuration

Can I send more than a 160 character message?
No. The Global System for Mobile Communications, who sets the standards for the global mobile market, standardized 160 for the length of a text message across all carriers. It also happens to be the standard size of digital conversations.

How do I load my candidates?
There are a couple ways to upload candidates. You may upload them individually, or you can mass upload candidates via excel or .csv when creating your campaign. TextRecruit supports ATS integration for a fee.

Where can I view the candidate responses?
You view all candidate responses and and sent messages in your “Messages” tab. There you can engage with candidates in real time, mark as unsubscribe or archive the conversation. All communication with candidates is stored in the candidate profile that you can view in the “Candidates” tab.

Do you have a mobile application?
Yes. It is available through Google Play and Apply iTunes.

Do you integrate with ATS?
Yes. TextRecruit integrates with many ATS, but we suggest that you prove the software loading candidates through the mass upload in the campaign flow before requesting ATS integration. There is a fee associated with integration. For more information go to www.textrecruit.com/integration.

How can I be compliant with all regulators?
Text messages sent through TextRecruit are banned unless the candidate previously gave consent to receive the message. CAN-SPAM Act bans commercial messages that primarily advertise or promote a commercial product or service. You cannot purchase lists and send text messages. For more information on compliance, please view our Terms and Conditions, the CAN-SPAM Act and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

Does a TextRecruit message have an unsubscribe function?
Yes. When a candidate responds to a text message with an unsubscribe request, TextRecruit will automatically unsubscribe the candidate from all future text communication from the company (not just the user). The candidate will receive an automatic message confirming they have been removed. TextRecruit also monitors the number of texts sent to a single candidate and limits the number to 10 TextRecruit credits/mth.

How do I report on compliance?
TextRecruit is not liable for any and all client activity on the platform, but does monitor compliance based on unsubscribes and negative responses. We make this information available to customers who want to report on texting compliance. All messages are archived and can be exported per request.

Can I purchase lists of candidates and use them in TextRecruit?
No.

Privacy

After I load my data in TextRecruit, who owns the data?
Data is stored on TextRecruit secured servers for the duration of the service agreement. The data cannot be resold, repurposed or used in any way other outside of the TextRecruit service. All data is terminated 30 days after the client’s contract termination date.

After 30 days post service termination, can my data be recovered?
No

Can I change seat users and still keep the data in the seat?
Yes. That is the value of TextRecruit. You can manage/change the users on the TextRecruit seat and all data and communication will be kept for reporting and export.

Text Deliverability

How are my texts being sent?
Your texts are being sent through the TextRecruit technology instantly to the candidates phone number.

Where do the texts go?
The texts are received in the native texting application on the candidates cell phone.

How do I engage with candidates?
When a candidate responds, the text message is instantly sent back into the TextRecruit platform where you can engage with candidates in the inbox of the “Message” tab. All sent messages are stored in the outbox.

Why are my response rates low?
We have template suggestions that help increase the response rate when you are drafting a message. Try personalizing the message with variables and introducing yourself in the message.

Can I save text templates?
Yes. After creating a message in a campaign you are able to save the message as a template. All templates are saved and can be used in future campaigns.

What happens if I send my text to a landline?
Your text will not be delivered and you will not be charged a TextRecruit credit.

What happens if someone calls my TextRecruit number?
There is a voicemail set up on behalf of the customer to notify the user that this is a TextRecruit number and to contact via text.

Can I use my own cell number?
No. The value of TextRecruit is separating your personal texting from your professional. All texting will be done through the mobile app and the web application.

Is the person charged to receive my text message?
All major carriers Verizon, Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile have unlimited texting plans due to the development of free texting applications like Facebook Messaging, Snapchat and Whatsapp. There could be historic plans that charge for text or voice. TextRecruit’s Auto-Unsubscribe helps with the management of candidates that wish not to be contacted via text.
